The stack

She isn't a prompt with a UI. She's a local runtime.

Cloud companions rent you a girl on their computers. Toolkits hand you a workbench. Reverie-Companion is a desktop product: conversation on your machine, memory you can open, a face that stays hers. Testers join this. A story engine is a later, separate app.

The rule

Generation is cheap. Identity has to be stored.

That is why she can remember, look like herself, and still be there tomorrow. A transcript is not a person. A lucky picture is not a face. Reverie-Companion keeps what matters as real state, then lets her talk inside it.

Every layer exists because a costume failed.

  1. 01 · Chat

    A local model that will actually stay in the scene

    Cloud companions lecture, refuse, and forget. Reverie-Companion runs the conversation on your machine so the girl you built does not get replaced by a safety intern mid-sentence.

    After setup there is no hosted chat API. You bring a local model. We pick defaults that fit an ordinary gaming laptop and adult fictional roleplay, not a lecture layer wearing her face. If a model is missing, the app degrades in the open. It does not phone home to fill the gap.

  2. 02 · Memory

    Months, not a context window hoping

    A companion who forgets is a costume. Memory is something you can open, not a prompt the model might recall.

    What matters is stored on disk, scoped to her, and retrieved on purpose. You can inspect it. You can wipe it. Delete means delete. That is the difference between a girlfriend and a session.

  3. 03 · Face

    Pictures locked to her, not a lucky seed

    If she looks like a stranger every still, the spell breaks. Other apps roll the slot machine. Reverie-Companion treats how she looks as part of who she is.

    Stills are tied to the character. You approve a change, reject a drift, or roll back. Generation stays local. Chat never waits on a picture. Jobs queue, cancel, and fail where you can see them. No cloud image API.

  4. 04 · Voice

    A voice that belongs to her

    Random speech is another stranger. It should sound like the same person you have been talking to.

    Voice is a profile, not a roll of the dice. It is meant to run on CPU so a laptop can live with her. You can turn it off. Missing speech does not block the rest of the app.

  5. 05 · Runtime

    A product, not a pile of extensions

    Most local companions are a workbench you assemble. Reverie-Companion is the app you open: character, memory, pictures, and voice already in one place.

    She is a character you keep, not a prompt you re-paste. Companion chat and adult roleplay are two ways to be with the same girl, not a second product. The story engine is a later, separate app. This stack is the companion.

  6. 06 · Hardware

    Built for a laptop you already own

    If she only runs on a 4090, she is a demo. The constraint is the product: chat, pictures, and voice take turns so a normal machine can live with her.

    We target 8GB-class hardware on purpose. Heavy work is queued and can be cancelled. We do not claim a laptop we have not sat in front of. Alpha, not a store listing.
